Baltimore port access channel expanded to 400 ft

Salvage crews have expanded the Port of Baltimore’s limited access channel (impacted by the MV Dali vessel collision incident) to a width of 400 feet and a depth of 50 feet, allowing for the transit of all deep-draft commercial vessels calling at the port, according to the US Army Corps of Engineers. To restore the Federal Channel to its original 700-foot width and 50-foot depth, USACE continues to clear wreckage from the riverbed, which is projected to conclude between June 8-10, said a report.
