Strike at Gangavaram port impacts operations

Operations at the port of Gangavaram have been completely stalled by a strike which began on Friday, April 12, 2024, as per the latest reports at the time of going to press.
 
As a result, Adani Ports and Logistics has declared a Force Majeure at the port, it is learnt. The strike has severely affected cargo handling and other related services.
 
According to a Adani Gangavaram Port Limited (AGPL) statement, such services were “forcibly brought to a standstill” from 0600 hours on April 12.
AGPL will not be responsible during the period the Force Majeure continues for any vessel demurrages or other consequential losses, including but not limited to pre-berthing delay and discharge rate guarantee(s) for vessels working on berth, awaiting berthing or planned to be handled at the port, informed the communique.
