New service at Kandla Container Terminal to boost coastal trade
In an exciting milestone at Kandla Container Terminal—Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Unifeeder has launched its PIC1 service at the terminal, which will provide a significant boost to coastal trade with weekly calls.
MV SSL Bharat, the inaugural vessel in the PIC1 service, departed from Kandla Container Terminal, developed and operated by J M Baxi Ports & Logistics of the J M Baxi Group, on January 24, 2025, achieving an impressive Gross Crane Rate (GCR) of 36.1 moves per hour, highlighted a release.
The port rotation is Kandla - Mundra - Pipavav - Cochin – Tuticorin.
With an LOA of 195.73 m and capacity of 2,959 TEUs, this vessel marks a major boost for coastal shipping, it was emphasised.
