Exports to the US up by 8.5 pc in Dec.

India’s merchandise exports to the US shot up by 8.5% to $7 billion in December 2024, according to official figures. India’s trade with the US is on the upswing with robust growth being recorded in December in the bilateral exports of both countries despite the disruption in shipping due to geopolitical tensions. US exports to India in December surged by close to 10% to $3.77 billion. India’s top imports from the US included petroleum, petroleum products, coal, coke, and electric machinery and equipment. Bilateral trade during the first nine months of the current financial year (April-December) 2024-25 touched $93.4 billion, which comes close to the trade with China at $94.6 billion during the same period, as per a report.
