India organises Land Port Training under ITEC for officials from neighbouring countries

India has been hosting Bangladeshi and other officials for Land Port Training under Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC). The program, titled “From Blueprint to Border,” focuses on the master planning of smart, green and resilient land ports. The inaugural session of the training, organised by Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI), was held on October 21, 2024. In collaboration with the School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi, the program brings together 27 participants from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and India, of which 10 were from Bangladesh. This diverse group will delve deep into engineering solutions and cross-border infrastructure management, fostering regional cooperation and expertise sharing. Under the ITEC, over the last five years, India has provided training programs to close to 3,000 young Bangladeshi officials in various disciplines, said a report.
