JNPA Chairman encourages first batch of Youth Skilling Program participants at BCBA office
Highlights that the initiative aims to create tangible & lasting improvements in local communities through skill-based training in ports, Customs, warehousing and logistics
The Brihanmumbai Custom Brokers Association (BCBA) highlighted in a communique that Mr Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Chairman, JNPA & CMD, VPPL, visited the BCBA office at Nariman Point, Mumbai to address the students who have enrolled in the 1st Batch of Youth Skilling Program on Customs Knowledge and Port Handling.
Mr Paresh Thakkar, Senior Vice President, BCBA, welcomed and felicitated Mr Wagh and Ms Ambika Singh, Senior Manager (Marketing & Communications), JNPA.
In his address, the JNPA Chairman highlighted the support extended by BCBA to launch this skill development training initiative designed to create a more skilled workforce and thereby empower the youth, enhance employability and promote greater diversity in the upcoming Vadhvan port operations.
He further said that this initiative aims to create tangible, lasting improvements in local communities through skill-based training. The training program features an industry-aligned curriculum delivered through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical, on-the-job training to prepare them for a career in ports, Customs, warehousing and logistics.
Once the students complete the training, they will be offered apprenticeships/internships for 6 months with stipends and opportunities to get full time jobs.
Mr Paresh Thakkar congratulated Mr Unmesh Sharad Wagh for taking the initiative and appreciated the efforts and cooperation that BCBA has received for this collaborative endeavour.
Mr Vinayak Aparaj, VP, BCBA, added that this initiative is a step forward in building a future-ready workforce for India’s growing logistics and port ecosystem, as per the communique.
