“MOL Africa” showcases MOL’s business operations in Africa, its African locations, its history in Africa, media coverage, press releases, blogs by MOL employees working in the region, and more. It also streams newsletters, which can be signed up for.
In 1926, MOL became the first Japanese shipping company to establish a shipping route between Japan and the east coast of Africa, and has been engaged in ocean transport to and from Africa for nearly a century. In recent years, it has expanded its business operations to South Africa, Mozambique, Kenya and Mauritius. And MOL’s activities are not limited to ocean transport; it is actively developing various businesses as a group, including not only ocean freight forwarding, but also air freight forwarding, land transport, warehousing, and the export of used Japanese agricultural machinery. MOL will leverage the group’s global network and expertise in shipping and logistics to offer high-quality services to customers in Africa, where markets and commercial opportunities are expected to expand due to rapid population growth and abundant resources, including strong potential for renewable energy in the future, as per a release.
