Exporters prepare for freight rates hike, container shortages
 
With containers stuck in China, Indian exporters are bracing for higher freight costs and container shortages, as per reports. Freight rates have already shown an initial double-digit uptick as exporters rush to pre-book consignments or build extra inventory in anticipation of further disruptions. This spike is impacting cost structures and prompting businesses to evaluate their logistics strategies more closely. Shipping companies have also flagged concerns over a potential container shortage in the near future due to delays in containers moving out of China amid its trade war with the US, as per a report.
