Mr Shashi Kiran Shetty, Founder and Chairman of the Allcargo Group and Vice Chairman, Steering Committee, ISKCON Kharghar, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inaugurating the Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple, an ISKCON initiative in Navi Mumbai.
Lead by Shri HG Suradas, the Temple President, Mr Shetty spearheaded the Steering Committee for the temple, alongside other notable business leaders, including Mr Ashok Hinduja.
Emphasised Mr Shetty: “The ISKCON temple is a monumental achievement and a true testament to spirituality, unity and dedication. It stands as a beacon of peace, humanity and love, welcoming people from all walks of life to experience its profound essence. This historic moment is the result of tireless efforts by HG Suradas, Temple President, and other Steering Committee members, not to forget the craftsmen, architects, engineers and generous contributors who turned this vision into reality.
Beyond its spiritual significance, the temple will serve as a hub for cultural and wellness activities, enriching lives and inspiring people globally. The presence of Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made this milestone even more special. This temple is a symbol of collective devotion and will continue to inspire generations to come.’’
Spread over nine acres, the temple complex has idols of various deities, a Vedic education centre, healing centre as well as a proposed museum and auditorium.
The temple, built at a cost of Rs 200 crore, was funded entirely by donations and took 12 years to complete.
The ISKCON temple epitomises the country’s rich spiritual, cultural and wellness heritage, and its design showcases ISKCON’s dedication to national spiritual development and preservation of culture, following Founder-Acharya AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada’s aim of establishing inclusive spiritual centres promoting global unity.
Several notable figures attended the inaugural event, including actor-turned-MP Hema Malini, Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, highlighted a release.
