Xylem World Trade Solutions commences offering BCN Rake Handling Services for Exports from CONCOR DRTA

Xylem World Trade Solutions Pvt. Ltd has announced that, with effect from March 2025, they have started offering BCN Rake handling services from Container Corporation of India’s (CONCOR) Dronagiri Rail Terminal Container Freight Station (CONCOR DRT CFS) facility at Nhava Sheva, Mumbai.
 
The Xylem World Trade Solutions team is experienced and expert in BCN Rake handling for agricultural commodities in bagged and bulk form for both containerised, and break bulk and bulk operations at port terminals. They also have very good relations withmany shippers, Custom House Agents and freight forwarders in the trade. 
 
The objective of introducing this new service is to cater to the growing demand from the exporters of agricultural commodities in containerised form, like sugar, rice, maize, soyabean meal, etc.
 
CONCOR DRT has state-of-the-art infrastructure at the Container Freight Station, along with rail siding and 41,840 sq. metres of warehousing space within Custom Notified Area at Nhava Sheva, Mumbai. Xylem World Trade Solutions, being an expert in offering customised, reliable and efficient logistics solutions, approached CONCOR DRT to reactivate BCN Rake handling facility from their Dronagiri Rail Terminal CFS, and the service was initiated beginning March 22, 2025. Since then, Xylem World Trade Solutions has handled 6 BCN rakes till date, with the joint effort of CONCOR DRT and their handling agent SAM Surveyors and Adjusters.
 
Mr Dhananjay Borase, Director of Xylem World Trade Solutions, said, “We have received very positive support from Mr V. Kiran Kumar, Chief Manager, CONCOR DRTA, and their Handling Contractor, Mr Vilvasigamani Ramaswamy of SAM Surveyors and Adjusters to conceptualise this service from CONCOR DRT. We are also thankful to their entire team for their support and dedication while executing the entire operations in a well-coordinated manner”. 
 
Commenting on the service offered by Xylem from CONCOR DRT, Mr V. Kiran Kumar, Chief Manager, CONCOR DRT, said, “We worked as a team to make this operation and service successful from CONCOR Dronagiri Rail Terminal. We are well equipped to facilitate multiple services to the trade with our state-of-the-art infrastructure, having rail-linked CFS in Nhava Sheva with total 3 rail lines including 2 shunting lines, as well as 5 warehouses with total 41,840 sq. metres area including 2,000 sq. metres Bonded warehousing facility. We have increased our CCTV camera coverage, apart from security, to monitor the EXIM cargo related services in a safe and secure manner”.
 
On behalf of SAM Surveyors and Adjusters, Mr Vilvasigamani Ramaswamy, CMD, highlighted, “Despite the initial challenges during BCN Rake handling, we overcame those and made every BCN Rake handling smoother and more efficient than the earlier one. With every rake experience, we kept improving our processes and approaches, and making the services far better and competitive in comparison with the private players in the vicinity”.
