Prism Logistics bags ‘Project of the Year 2024’ Award
Indian company Prism Logistics has won the HLPF “Project of the Year 2024” Award for the “HRRL Barmer Refinery Multimodal Transportation Project.”
On October 23, 2024, Prism Logistics Private Limited, India’s leading end-to-end project cargo service provider, which successfully executed a single project having volume of 72,464 FRT involving super heavy cargo of 34 packages from Mangalore Port, L&T Hazira jetty and Godrej Dahej jetty to HRRL Barmer Refinery by multimodal mode, was recognised by Heavylift & Project Forwarding International (UK). This was a massive project involving 6 barge voyages including 2 self-propelled barges chartered from Korea (Dongbang 5 & Dongbang 6) and road transportation from Mundra Port to project site at Pachpadra in Barmer district of Rajasthan for a transport distance of 553 km with maximum single package weight of 743 MT.
It was a very challenging project involving the construction of 40 bypasses / major civil modification en route, which included construction of 2 steel bridges for crossing the Narmada Canal at Zazam and Tharad in Gujarat.
Another major challenge was crossing an electric railway line by building temporary bypasses after obtaining permission for railway shutdown.
Construction of a bypass over a flowing river during the monsoon in July was another big challenge faced by Prism, but it was overcome and the bypass was built successfully to cross the Luni River.
Given the numerous challenges and the way the project was successfully executed in a 364-day time cycle, it was bestowed with the “Project of the Year” Award, for an Indian company on a global platform, making India proud. This shows the capacity and capability of Indian logistics service providers to successfully execute large projects of complex nature and is an example for the Government of India’s Make in India initiative, emphasised a release.
