ACAAI Western Region confers on key developments in the air cargo industry

Commissioner of Customs highlights facilitation initiatives
 
The Air Cargo Agents Association of India (ACAAI), Western Region, chaired by Mr Rajen Bhatia (Hon. Chairman), convened a meeting on February 28, 2025 at Hotel Kohinoor Continental in Mumbai, to discuss key developments in the air cargo industry.
 
A highlight of the event was a special address by Mr Hardeep Batra, Commissioner of Customs – Export Air Cargo Complex, Mumbai.
 
In an insightful talk, Mr Batra focused on the latest developments in the air cargo industry. He touched upon initiatives like E-office which is functional at the ACC, and said that the E-Bond initiative will be launched by Customs soon to facilitate the trade. He disclosed that the government is moving towards implementing blockchain to integrate all the stakeholders. He added that he is monitoring the progress of the movement of export documents/cargo on a daily basis to ensure that the dwell time is reduced and cargo moves in a timely manner.
 
The meeting attracted a significant number of attendees from the industry.
 
Mr Shailesh Sharma, ACAAI Hon. Secretary, along with Mr Farokh Hansotia, Hon. Treasurer, expressed their gratitude to the members for their valuable time and commitment.
 
The evening concluded with cocktails and dinner, offering ample networking opportunities to members, airlines, custodians and Customs, highlighted a release.
