COSCO SHIPPING launches new Far East to South America West Coast automobile carrier service
On November 14, COSCO SHIPPING Chancay Port in Peru commenced trial operations. This milestone was marked by the successful unloading of new energy vehicles and other transportation products from M.V. COSCO SHIPPING HONOR and M.V. COSCO TENG FEI at Chancay Port.
The maiden voyage of M.V. COSCO TENG FEI, carrying 2,756 vehicles, embarked from Shanghai to Chancay, Peru, and other South American destinations, inaugurating COSCO SHIPPING automobile carrier fleet’s direct Far East-South America West Coast service.
Simultaneously, M.V. COSCO SHIPPING HONOR completed the discharge of equipment and frame containers within a single day before successfully departing from Chancay Port.
The official inauguration of the South American West Coast liner service by Yuanhai Car Carrier marks a significant enhancement in transportation efficiency for commercial vehicles, major equipment and other goods between China and Peru. This new route becomes the fourth liner service launched by the company, following the successful establishment of routes to the Persian Gulf, Southeast Africa and Europe.
This newly introduced route offers a reliable monthly sailing schedule, primarily calling at Chancay, Peru, and San Antonio, Chile. Additionally, it includes ports of call in Colombia, Ecuador and other countries within the region, adapting to market demands.
While promoting the direct “Shanghai-Chancay” route, Yuanhai Car Carrier is committed to enhancing the comprehensive automotive logistics supply chain services around Chancay Port. The company aims to provide customers with tailored solutions, including warehousing, Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), distribution and an array of value-added services designed to meet diverse needs.
Furthermore, the company is actively integrating local resources to establish a multimodal distribution network covering sea, road and rail transport. This strategic move facilitates the gradual realisation of vehicle distribution across South America, offering clients a broad spectrum of “port-to-door” terminal services that cater to their specific requirements, said a release.
