Deendayal Port creates a slew of records in December

Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has announced its remarkable achievements in December 2024, setting new records in vessel handling, traffic volume, rice handling and exports. These accomplishments reflect the port’s unwavering commitment to operational excellence and its pivotal role in India's maritime sector.

Highest ever vessels handled in a month - DPA achieved an extraordinary milestone by handling a record 354 vessels in December 2024, surpassing the previous highest of 327 vessels handled in October 2024.

Highest traffic volume in a month - In December 2024, DPA handled 13.03 million metric tons (MMT) of cargo, breaking its earlier record of 12.90 MMT achieved in March 2024.

Highest rice handling in a month - DPA recorded an impressive 4,54,635 tonnes of rice handled in December 2024, surpassing the previous high of 3,43,906 tonnes achieved in November 2024.

Highest export volume - DPA exported a record 35,86,709 tonnes of cargo in December 2024, breaking the previous record of 33,48,891 tonnes set in April 2022.

Mr Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman of DPA, congratulated and appreciated all stakeholders, port users, trade unions, officials, employees and workers for their collective efforts in achieving these remarkable milestones. He emphasised that these achievements are a testament to the teamwork and dedication of everyone involved.
