Deendayal Port Authority sets new record in cargo handling

Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla has once again demonstrated its efficiency and operational excellence by achieving a record-breaking discharge of 68,057 metric tonnes (MTs) of steam non-coking coal in just 24 hours. This milestone was accomplished by M.V. Cretansea at Cargo Jetty No. 08 on March 16, 2025, marking the highest-ever quantity of non-coking coal handled at the port in a single day.
 
The vessel was berthed at 1600 hours on March 15 and commenced cargo discharge operations at 1750 hours on the same day. The operation continued seamlessly and was completed at 0345 hours on March 17, after which the vessel was shifted to OTB at 1545 hours on March 17.
 
This feat was achieved with the efficient use of six Harbour Mobile Cranes, reinforcing DPA’s commitment to speed and precision in cargo handling.
