India & Brazil to promote pulses trade

To promote pulses trade between India and Brazil, the India Pulses and Grains Association (IPGA) and IBRAFE of Brazil have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). IBRAFE is the Brazilian Institute of Beans, Pulses and Special Crops. As part of the MoU, both countries will take steps to foster the development of mutual international trade. The MoU emphasises market intelligence, food security, quality standards, trade promotion, technology transfer and incentive to investments. IPGA and IBRAFE will work towards promoting pigeon peas (tur) and black matpe (urad) and any other pulses crop of mutual interest, including research in pre- and post-harvest activities, said a report.
