Basmati rice export up 25.54 pc

The export of basmati rice has increased by 25.54 per cent in April-June this fiscal year to a value of $1.15 billion (around Rs 9,160 crore), according to the Commerce Ministry. Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, the UAE, US, UK, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman had a share of close to 80 per cent in total shipments from India in 2021-22. Basmati rice is one of the largest agro products for export from the country, emphasised a report.
