Apparel exports seen getting fillip with UAE, Australia FTAs
India’s apparel exports are expected to get a boost after the signing of the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with the UAE and Australia by diversifying the market of the existing basket, said Mr Naren Goenka, Chairman, Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), on the sidelines of the 67th India International Garment Fair (IIGF) at Greater Noida. The global apparel market, which was just under $1.5 trillion in 2013, is expected to generate revenues to the tune of $1.8 trillion in 2022 and $1.9 trillion in 2025. He said India offers the world a complete value chain solution from farm to fashion, as per a report.
