India-EU FTA to provide greater market access to domestic sectors: Goyal 
 
The Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Piyush Goyal, has said that the proposed India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will provide greater market access to several domestic sectors such as textiles, leather and sports goods in the EU market, a large market with 27 prosperous countries. One of the largest trading blocs, having a big share of the world market, it will open doors to textiles, leather, pharma, sports goods, some agri products, handicrafts and handlooms. India’s merchandise exports to EU member countries stood at about $65 billion in 2021-22, while imports aggregated $51.4 billion, as per a report.
