Mumbai Port Authority celebrated International Yoga Day at Gateway of India on June 21, 2022. It commenced with a grand yoga session arranged at the iconic venue at 7 am.
The programme was chaired by Mr Rakesh Shrivastava, Chief Vigilance Officer, MbPA. While addressing the gathering, he stressed on the importance of yoga in today’s stressful life and in finding peace. He also extended his warm wishes to all present on the occasion for completion of the 75th year of India’s Independence and to Mumbai Port Authority for entering its 150th Anniversary Year. The programme was arranged in association with Patanjali Yog Samiti. Mr Suresh Yadav of the Samiti conducted the complete yoga session.
Around 2,000 participants including dignitaries, CISF, CRPF, NCC, school children, Patanjali sadhak/volunteers, MbPA officers & employees, and general public attended the function which was organised as per yoga protocol following the directives from the Ministry of AAYUSH. The entire programme was co-ordinated by Mr U. R. Mohan Raju, Secretary, MbPA and Mr M.R.S. Qureshi, Dy. Manager (Welfare). The programme concluded with the rendition of the “National Anthem”.
This was followed by yoga sessions organised at various MbPA premises like Nadkarni Park - MbPA Residential Colony and MbPA Officers’ Colony, Mazagaon, as well as onboard a ship at Jawahar Dweep by sailors and ship crew, said a release.
