Commerce Ministry recommends extension of anti-dumping duty on Chinese solar glass

To guard domestic players against cheap imports, the Commerce Ministry’s investigation arm, Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), has recommended extension of anti-dumping duty on Chinese solar glass for two more years. The DGTR said that continued imposition of anti-dumping duty is required on textured, tempered, coated and uncoated glass from China. It has recommended duties in the range of $192.82 per tonne and $302.65 per tonne. The Finance Ministry takes the final decision to impose the duty. In its probe, the DGTR had concluded that the product is being exported to India at prices below normal value, resulting in continued dumping, as per a report.
