Major Ports handle more containers in April-Sept.
 
The cargo handling capacity of Major Ports has gone up. There was 9.15% growth in containers handled at the Major Ports in April-September 2024 compared to April-September 2023. 
 
The main growth drivers were Cochin Port 17%, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority 13% and VOC Port Authority, Tuticorin 7%, highlighted a Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) release.
