Cochin Port mulls inviting EoI for green hydrogen pilot

Cochin Port Authority is focusing on inviting Expressions of Interest (EoI) shortly to execute a green hydrogen pilot project, which is expected to start production within a year, said Mr B. Kasiviswanathan, Chairman, Cochin Port Authority, while speaking after inaugurating a workshop on the “Pathway for a Successful Green Hydrogen Pilot at Cochin Port”, organised in association with Indian Ports Association. Cochin Port already has existing capabilities and rich experience in handling liquid cargo, especially chemicals like ammonia. The port therefore will be in an advantageous situation to build a bunkering facility for green hydrogen and its derivatives. It is exploring various project proposals for developing green hydrogen pilots and will invite ideas from stakeholders to finalise the scope of the pilot project. Cochin Port Authority, Indian Ports Association and industry stakeholders will prioritise working together on these proposals, as per a report.
