Vanguard Logistics appoints Sachin Vijan as the new Regional Managing Director for the Indian Subcontinent & Middle East region

Michael Gomez to take charge as RMD for North America

Vanguard Logistics has appointed Mr Sachin Vijan as the new Regional Managing Director (RMD) for the Indian Subcontinent & Middle East (ISC & ME) region. He takes over from Mr Michael Gomez who has been appointed as the new RMD for North America, effective July 1.

The handover date for Michael to give the reins to Sachin will be July 1. Until then, Michael will be introducing Sachin to all the people and processes in the ISC & ME region to ensure a smooth transition, informed a Vanguard communique.

Mr Vijan’s appointment as the new RMD for the Indian Subcontinent & Middle East region comes as the company redefines the region’s boundaries, thereby sharpening its focus on ISC & ME. Sachin brings a wealth of experience, with over 20 years in senior sales, sales management and P&L responsibilities, particularly in managing Less than Container Load (LCL) and Full Container Load (FCL) operations in this region. His expertise is crucial for driving the company’s growth and expanding its presence in these rapidly developing markets, the communique stressed.

As the new RMD for North America, Mr Michael Gomez takes over from Olivia Fidler, who retired in April. With a robust tenure at Vanguard Logistics spanning over 26 years, including significant roles within its global IT team, Michael’s achievements over the last 11 years in the Indian Subcontinent & Middle East region have put Vanguard on the map in a very important way, it added.

These changes align with the company’s strategic goals leading up to 2026. It said: “These leadership appointments are critical as we pursue our growth ambitions and enhance our global footprint. Both Michael Gomez and Sachin Vijan are exceptionally positioned to lead their respective regions towards achieving our strategic objectives as we move towards 2026.”
