ICD Durgapur celebrates truck drivers on May 1 with 400+ guests
Allied ICD Services Ltd celebrated the 2024 International Workers’ Day and Drivers’ Day at Durgapur on May 1. Since 2012, the team at Allied ICD has been celebrating this event on May 1 to not only honour the hardworking forklift/reach stacker operators, engine/tyre/trailer body mechanics and supervisors, but to also honour the hardworking truck drivers of the country.
The event was attended by over 400 guests and there were 120 truck drivers among the audience. Mr Pramod Kumar Srivastava, Director & CEO of Allied ICD Services Ltd, said, “The Drivers’ Day event aims to raise awareness on the role of truck drivers in the Indian economy. They are often neglected by society, and as a logistics company we aim to raise respect for truck drivers in society”.
The truck drivers of ICD Durgapur were felicitated in different categories such as ‘Fuel Efficient Driver’, ‘Digital First Driver’, ‘Systematic Attendance Award’, ‘Best Behaviour Award’, etc. A comprehensive 360 degree feedback was conducted to select the winners from a pool of 150+ candidates.
Mr Avishkar Srivastava, Chief Innovation Officer at Allied ICD, said, “Over the past 10 years, we have developed a comprehensive database for our trailer drivers with detailed record of each truck driven by drivers, total leaves taken by drivers, and driver behaviour during interactions. Since the past 3 years we have also added ‘IoT’ devices to make our fleet smarter and have real-time updates on driving habits. Based on a combination of our cloud software and ‘IoT’ device, we have selected winners as per data and not as per feedback of any individuals. This has created a sense of pride among the winners and all our drivers are now aware of the transparent judging process”.
The International Workers’ Day & Drivers’ Day event at ICD Durgapur was attended by distinguished guests from the EXIM and supply chain industry. The event was graced by senior members from Kazi Nazrul Islam (Durgapur) Airport, Dr B. C. Roy Academy of Professional Courses, Super Iron Foundries Pvt. Ltd, Shyam Metallics and Energy Ltd, Maithan Alloys Ltd, Shakambhari Ispat & Power Ltd, Philips Carbon Black Ltd, as well as industry friends from the trucking sector.
