DGTR recommends anti-dumping duty on PVC Resin from China, other countries

India’s trade defence arm, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), has recommended the imposition of anti-dumping duty up to $707 per metric tonne on the import of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) Resin Paste Resin from China and five other countries. The duties recommended start from $89 per metric tonne. The other countries from which imports would be subject to anti-dumping duty are Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Norway. The decision comes after an investigation into a complaint by an Indian manufacturer, which revealed that the imports from all six countries were at dumped prices or lower than prices charged in the home market. PVC Resin Paste is primarily used to manufacture artificial leather, but also has many other uses, said a report.
