India, Greece discuss IMEC corridor, shipbuilding

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Mr Sarbananda Sonowal, discussed the operationalisation of the ambitious India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor with his Greek counterpart, Mr Christos Stylianides, on the sidelines of ‘Sagarmanthan, the Great Oceans Dialogue’, organised by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) here this week. Mr Sonowal also invited Greek shipping companies to play a significant role in India’s shipbuilding industry. Praising Greece’s global stature in shipping, he expressed India’s interest in fostering Greek investments. Mr Stylianides too shared a positive outlook on the meeting, emphasising shared goals amidst global geopolitical shifts and the importance of practical initiatives that benefit both nations, said a report.
