Mumbai Port docks three grand vessels together for the first time

Expected to reduce waiting period for ships, boost efficiency & lower greenhouse gas emissions

Mumbai Port achieved a remarkable milestone at its OCT berth last week when three grand vessels – MV GRAMPUS EVER, MV CHARIOTEER and MV KURUSHIMA – gracefully docked together for the first time in history.

This breakthrough will not only reduce the waiting period for vessels but also improve turnaround time (TRT), attracting even more cargo to the bustling port. With an eye on sustainability, this initiative is poised to boost efficiency and lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, paving the way for a greener tomorrow, highlighted an official communique.

Acknowledged and celebrated by its port users, this achievement marks a new chapter of excellence for the Mumbai Port Authority, positioning it as a beacon of innovation in maritime logistics.

This achievement was possible under the visionary leadership and able guidance of Mr Rajiv Jalota, IAS, Chairperson and Mr Adesh Titarmare, IAS, Deputy Chairperson, Mumbai Port Authority, the communique said.

The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways is committed to implementing a comprehensive set of initiatives designed to enhance India’s ex-im competiveness. By focusing on infrastructure development, policy reforms, technological integration and market expansion, Mumbai Port aims to create a more efficient and competitive ex-im environment, as per the release.
