Chennai Port handles its deepest ever container vessel
APL BOSTON has become the deepest ever container vessel, with the highest capacity, to call at Chennai Port, on 10.05.2024. A container ship registered and sailing under the Singapore flag with Gross Registered Tonnage (GRT) of +1,09,699 and deadweight (DWT) 1,17,207, Length Overall (LOA) 328.2 metres, beam 45.2 metres and a maximum draught of 14.9 metres, the vessel has a capacity to hold 9,326 TEUs on board, surpassing the previous vessel, CMA CGM Mozart, which had arrived on 21.01.2017 with 14.8 metres.
