PCHAA outlines plans

Digitalisation and new modern techniques introduced in export and import activities by the Customs and other stakeholders have forced Custom Brokers to appoint skilled manpower. Since almost 100% of the ex-im clearance activities are today online, Custom Brokers need to focus on knowledge sharing. Hence, the new Managing Committee will be organising skill development and training programmes for staff of Custom Brokers in Pune.

PCHAA will be also focusing on the “Clear in Pune” concept and will try to encourage more and more business activities to be carried out in the ICD Customs stations in Pune, which will be beneficial to members of the Association as well as all stakeholders. Pune currently has 3 ICDs - ICD Talegaon, ICD Bambholi and ICD Dighi - and members have been requested to clear their import and export shipments from any one of these.
The Committee also aims to increase the member strength of the Association, besides organising sports and cultural activities to boost interaction among members of HTOA as well as members of other trade bodies, said a release.
