Kesar Multimodal Logistics Ltd receives first full import train at its ICD Powarkheda from JNPT 

Consignment of Som Distilleries that arrived on Maersk Line


Kesar Multimodal Logistics Ltd (KMLL), located at Powarkheda near Itarsi in Madhya Pradesh, has announced the arrival of its first full import rake for consignee Som Distilleries at its ICD on January 10, 2022. The rake, owned and operated by Distribution Logistics Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd (DLI), departed from JNPT on January 8, 2022, in the morning hours and arrived at ICD Powarkheda on January 10, informed a release by KMLL’s Mumbai Corporate Office. The consignment had earlier arrived at the port on Maersk Line.


The rake arrival ceremony was attended, among others, by the following officials:


* Maersk Line – Mr Shashi Chaudhary (Central India Manager)


* Kesar Multimodal Logistics – Mr Ashwani Kumar (Marketing & Business Head), Mr Sajjad Ali (Terminal Head) & other company staff


* DLI – Mr Sanjay Vats (DGM - Marketing)


* Customs – Mr Khanna (Supdt. of Customs)


* Trident Ltd - Mr Aniket Agrawal (Vice President) & Mr Dhiraj Jha  (General Manager)


* Nahar Industries – Mr Sanjay (Manager)


* Sai Shipping – Mr Sanjeev (Owner)


* Pink City -  Mr Nitin Sood (Branch Head)


The CEO of KMLL, Mr Navlesh Kumar, participated in the ceremony through video conference. He congratulated Mr Ashwani Kumar and his team for the incredible achievement.


The release further said that KMLL had flagged off the first export rake from the ICD at Powarkheda with sugar to JNPT in June 2020, and since then it has come a long way with support from exporters like Trident Ltd, L. T. Foods, Vardhman Textiles, Nahar Textiles, etc. Besides, shipping lines like Maersk, CMA CGM, Wan Hai, OOCL, COSCO and several NVOCCs patronise their services at ICD Powarkheda. This first loaded import rake from JNPT to the ICD has added another feather in the cap for regular ex-im activities from the Central India region, the release emphasised. 


Customers in the region now have the option of another facility for their ex-im shipments, with stable weekly train services for imports and exports at the ICD. Shipping lines are regularly feeding ICD Powarkheda with empties for export requirements, and the first import rake into the ICD will further strengthen the availability of equipment on regular basis for the export fraternity.
