Chandra Shipping & Trading Services bags Best CHA Award for 3rd straight year

CHANDRA Shipping & Trading Services (CSTS), which has its headquarters/ registered office at Kakinada with branches in almost all ports, has won "the Best CHA award for the year 2008-09" from the Commissioner of Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax here.

The award was given away on the occasion of the International Customs Day Celebrations at Hotel Royal Park in Kakinada on January 27. This is the third consecutive year that CSTS has won this award.

CSTS is the flagship company of the Chandra Group, which specialises in offshore upstream logistics providing complete logistics solutions, including shore-based management and liquid/general bulk cargo handling.

The award was presented to Mr Vivek Kedia, CEO of CSTS, by Mr R.V.L. Narasimha Rao, Assistant Commissioner of Customs, Kakinada, in the presence of Mr Sreeram Bhagawathi, Partner of CSTS, Mr K. V. Reddy, Director of Ports, and Mr D. Purushotham, Additional Commissioner of Customs.

Mr Purushotham stressed the importance of steamer agents and Customs house agents in the ex-im trade.

Mr Narasimha Rao observed that the CHA’s role in Customs was the backbone for smooth functioning of the ex-im trade.

Mr K. V. Reddy said that the AP government was very keen on developing port infrastructure.
