China’s exports & imports soar

On growing demand as the pandemic wanes in the US and other key markets, China’s exports rose by 28 per cent from a year earlier and imports soared 51 per cent at the fastest annual pace in over a decade in May 2021, as per the latest Customs data. Total exports climbed 40 per cent in the first five months of the year from a year earlier. They were up 29 per cent from the same period in 2019, said a report.
