Tea production increases by 34.30 pc in Q1


As all producing regions have posted an increase, India’s tea production in the first quarter (Q1) of the current calendar year has risen by 34.30 per cent over the same months of Q1 2020. Tea Board data shows that in March 2021, there was an impressive increase of 22.71 million kg (mkg) or 51.92 per cent over March 2020. Production rose to 66.45 mkg from 43.74 mkg in March 2020. India produced 99.84 mkg against 74.34 mkg in Jan.-March 2020, an impressive growth of 34.30 per cent, said a report.
