Gadkari calls for clearing Chinese goods at ports

As imported Chinese goods are reportedly being blocked at ports, Mr Nitin Gadkari, Transport and MSME Minister, is said to have written to the Finance Minister and Commerce Minister urging them to remove roadblocks to the release of these goods. He pointed out that the shipments have reached Indian shores based on payment made by industry players. He told a news outlet that to reduce imports, India can increase import duty. But holding up already imported items will harm our entrepreneurs as they will incur huge losses. The Minister also sought priority clearance for imported agricultural equipment, as per a report.
