JN Port announces relief measures

Since the present situation has created an acute shortage of drivers transporting containers by trucks between nearby CFSs, factory/catchment areas and the port, JNPT said in a trade notice that the following reliefs have been extended to the trade in order to support/assist port users and end users:

* No dwell time charges will be levied for import containers moved by road (CFS/DPD/empty) which are discharged with effect from March 22 to March 31, 2020.

* No shifting charges will be levied for import containers for which change of mode (from truck to rail) is performed to facilitate movement of CFS/DPD containers by rail till March 31, 2020.

* Delivery of DPD containers will be allowed from terminal even after 48 hours till March 31, 2020.

The validity period of these facilitations is likely to be updated, it is learnt.
