CONCOR aiming at annual turnover of INR 25,000 cr.

The Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) is aiming at an annual turnover of Rs 25,000 crore in the next five years, the Railways Minister, Mr Piyush Goyal, has said.

He was speaking at the launch of the maiden container transport of CONCOR (which comes under the Ministry of Railways) through coastal shipping, which was flagged off by the Shipping Minister, Mr Nitin Gadkari, last week, in the presence of CONCOR CMD, Mr V. Kalyana Rama, and others.

"CONCOR recorded a turnover of Rs 6,000 crore last year. It aims to take it to Rs 25,000 crore in the next five years," the Minister emphasised.

Collaboration with the Shipping and Highways Ministries facilitated this coastal movement, which will help bring down the logistics cost in the country and, thereby, contribute to economic growth, Mr Goyal observed, as per reports.
