Djibouti inks new agreementfor Doraleh Container Terminal
DJIBOUTI’S Ports and Zones Authority has announced that the Doraleh Container Terminal has signed a deal with Pacific International Lines (PIL) to raise by a third (300,000 TEUs) the amount of cargo handled at the port.
Djibouti had last month ended its contract with DP World to run the 1.6 million-TEU terminal, citing failure to resolve a dispute that began in 2012. The seizure of the terminal was deemed illegal by DP World, which said it had begun new arbitration proceedings before the London Court of Interna-tional Arbitration, reports said.
