New economic corridors planned

 

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways plans to develop 44 economic corridors at a cost of Rs 5 lakh crore, encompassing 24,000 km of new highways and feeder routes, it is learnt.

 

The intention is to facilitate faster movement of cargo and develop multimodal logistics hubs and parks at the periphery of major commercial centres, sources said.
