APM Terminals Pipavav marks 1,000 days of safe operations

On May 13, 2017, APM Terminals Pipavav achieved a milestone in its commitment to safety by completing 1,000 days with zero fatality and Lost Time Incidents (LTI). Considering the pace and many different types of cargo handled at the port, it is a significant accomplishment for APM Terminals Pipavav. This is the result of constant care, continuous training, monitoring and supervising of operations at all levels at Pipavav, highlighted a release.

Safety is an integral part of all operations at APM Terminals Pipavav. The port has embarked on APM Terminals’ designated Fatal 5 initiatives to ensure maximum safety with collaborative efforts in: transportation, suspended loads and lifting, working at heights, stored energy, and control of contractors.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr Keld Pedersen, Managing Director of APM Terminals Pipavav, said: "1,000 days of safe operations is an outstanding milestone for our port. This has only been possible because of our dedicated organisation and proactive initiatives to ensure safe operations at work. We will continue to work hard and try to reach another 1,000 days without anybody getting hurt or injured at our workplace."
