MANSA to demystify implication of GST on maritime trade at conclave on May 31


Mumbai and Nhava-Sheva Ship-Agents Association (MANSA) is organising a one-day conference on Implication of GST (Goods and Services Tax) on Maritime Trade on May 31, 2017 in Mumbai.


A top official from the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) is being solicited to deliver the keynote address at the event, subsequent to which stakeholders will deliberate on the pertinent issues along with the legal partner and knowledge partner for the conference.


"Amid a challenging time for global economic growth, the development of GST comes at a time when major economies across the world are going through uncertain times. As part of its continuous process of empowering its members, MANSA intends to get policymakers, knowledge partners and legal experts to demystify the GST legislation and enlighten the members for a smooth transition ahead," said Capt. Vivek Anand, President of MANSA.


Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys will be the legal partner while Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu will be the knowledge partner for the conference. MANSA has also sought the support of the Ministry of Shipping, said a release.
