More coconut products exported from India this fiscal

Coconut products exports have increased by 50 per cent year-on-year till November 2016, with a value of Rs 1,447 crore, thereby already attaining, in the first eight months of 2016-17, almost the total value of outbound shipments achieved in the previous fiscal.

One of the reasons attributed was the shortage and, therefore, the high prices in competing coconut producing countries, it is learnt.

Coconut oil, copra and fresh coconut were some of the key products shipped, data showed.
